This is what happens when you combine Leroux Erik, ALW (2004 movie) Christine, and Tim Burton style-ishness (I guess)
See Erik? He just a little twig.
So, I've kinda been obsessed with Poto for the past few months. Read the book...Its so insane I loved it. And then I saw the Corpse Bride preview...and the story kinda reminded me of poto. So, I thought it would be so cool if Tim Burton made a clay animation film of poto...that would be sooo awsome.
This has kinda been an experiment with the rocks and water (I need to learn how to properly draw water) They were very fun to draw, though, so now I think I'm gunna draw more.
Christine looks different than I expected her to...She looks kinda sickly. ah well.
Sorry if the perspective is wrong. I'm really bad at that. Someone help me.
I used a book cover for reference (kinda).
Anyways:
used Painter and PSP 8
if ya was wonder'n
And thankies to for helping me improve/edit it... Even though I didn't follow her advice too well...>.>
Oh dude, cool. Erik is totally badass. Christine was a bit of a twerp, and her boyfriend was more so, but overall it was a great story. This is totally one of the best illustrations of it I've seen to date.
I agree with HoodyBoody, it does seem like corpse bride. As for the twirpiness, well, yes, she was also a little wishy-washy, but who cares, she had a great voice.....a bit of an air-head as well.....poor erik *sniff*.......i have the original silent film....oh, it's so sad!......raoul almost dies...hehehehheeh.....*sniff* why must he die?.....the book, the book is amazing!......*sniff*
0_0 Wow. Phantom meets Tim Burton. lol. This is very awsome job!!

MaG...MAGGEH!!! this looks fabulous! I wouldn't have been able to recognize the phantom if you didn't tell. I don't really see an indication of that half white mask. Ah well The contrasts in shading is very eye catching. I think you nailed that Leroux Erik style pretty well. I think the idea is to make them look sort of creepy or sickly but it's actually pretty cute here. Catherine looks just as clueless as she did in the movie XP Clueless but pretty. I think that's the idea.
I need to learn to colour all monochromatic like that...

This has to be one of the coolest pictures I've ever seen in my life. I would seriously order a print of it if I had any money and that were an option. And I've never wanted a print of anything. XD I absolutely love it. The Tim Burtony style is soooo perfect for Phantom of the Opera and you pulled it off brilliantly! It looks fantastic. I especially love the candelabra on the wall.. XD
